Angels Interested In Rays GM Andrew Friedman

So, yeah. When you think “Angels”, you don’t think “Andrew Friedman, or a guy like Andrew Friedman”, but here we are. And it’s not like it doesn’t make sense - the Angels want a new direction, and Friedman has obviously had outstanding success in Tampa Bay, working on a nothing budget. The Rays are probably baseball’s best-run organization, and Friedman has played a central role, so he’s a desirable name.

With the caveats that we don’t know those three men were actually together in a St. Petersburg restaurant and we don’t know what they were talking about, wouldn’t it make a great deal of sense for Andrew Friedman to discuss job opportunities with other franchises?

At this point, we’re engaging in idle speculation. Which is fine; this sort of speculation doesn’t hurt anybody. And considering all the other crazy stuff that’s already happened this month, just about anything seems possible.
