Rangers Vs. Senators: Marian Gaborik Finally Playing To Potential
Marian Gaborik extended his point streak to four games as he is finally playing to his potential.

Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Wade Redden. These are three of the most recent busts that the New York Rangers have thrown money at in hopes that the team can return to its glory days of old.
Marian Gaborik is yet another one of these high-priced risks. He is in the third year of a five-year, $37.5 million contract with the Rangers. After a healthy 76-game season in 2009-10 that saw him earn 86 points (42 goals), Gaborik missed 20 games last season and saw his production almost cut in half (48 points).
This season, however, Gaborik is finally playing like the sniper he is; through 14 games, he has nine goals and six assists, including a four-game point streak of four goals and three assists. Gaborik extended that streak in the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators when he scored twice to extend the Rangers' own streak of five straight wins.
Gaborik has been playing on a line with Derek Stepan and Artem Anisimov lately and it seems that there is plenty of chemistry among them. All three combined for all the goals and assists earned by New York Thursday; Stepan had a goal and two assists, while Anisimov had two assists.
The Rangers have missed and made the playoffs on the last day of the last two seasons. If Gaborik heats up and the Rangers continue to as well, the bright lights of Broadway will be shining all season long.
