Virginia at Florida State NFL Draft watch notes

Earlier this week, Tony Pauline of NFL Draft Insider/SI.com made some waves by proclaiming Virginia Oday Aboushi as the fourth-best offensive tackle in the draft. Aboushi is good, but maybe not quite that good. He's a rangy, athletic left tackle and reportedly didn't give up a sack last season. He's not the only tackle to observe in today's game. Florida State's Zebrie Sanders has stepped up his game following the loss of senior Andrew Datko. Both Aboushi and Sanders could find themselves in the second-round mix.

Both tackles will have their hands full today. Virginia defensive end Cam Johnson could give Sanders fits with his strength and hustle. Brandon Jenkins will come at Aboushi from different angles, lining up at rush end and with his hand down. Jenkins has been versatile this year, so don't judge him based on stats.

If you haven't tuned into a Virginia game this season, shame on you. Cornerback Chase Minnifield is really starting to live up to the hype. He shut down Georgia Tech's physical Stephen Hill and took home ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his effort against Duke last week.

Florida State linebacker Nigel Bradham was ejected against Miami after putting a kill shot on a receiver. I'm sure a few scouts in attendance took notice of Bradham being physical and had to like it. It seems we've been waiting for four years for Bradham to break out and maybe the ejection will serve as the onus for that happening. Bradham is an agile player who moves around well.

Florida State's E.J. Manuel has looked good at times this season but clearly needs to come back for his senior year. He's definitely one to watch for the 2013 draft.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
