Oklahoma State junior wide receiver Justin Blackmon told reporters from News 9 in Tulsa on Tuesday that he's likely to enter the 2012 NFL Draft.
Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon expects to enter 2012 NFL Draft
“Right now, I think (going pro) would be the best thing for me, so that will probably happen,” Blackmon told the news station following practice.
Should he enter the draft, Blackmon is likely to be a top 15 in the draft. He has good size and can make tough catches in traffic. In the Oklahoma State spread offense Blackmon isn’t asked to run complex routes, so that is an area where he’ll have to grow in the NFL.
Blackmon waited until just days before the early entry deadline this year to announce he was coming back for his junior season with the Cowboys.
This season, Blackmon is a Biletnikoff Award finalist along with Robert Woods of Southern California and Ryan Broyles of Oklahoma. On the year, Blackmon has 103 receptions for 1,241 yards and 15 touchdowns. He won the award last season after finishing with 111 receptions for 1,782 yards and 20 touchdowns.
I currently have him rated as the top draft-eligible wide receiver in the nation.
