South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore is one of the more well-rounded defensive backs in the nation. He combines good size and strength and should easily be drafted by the end of the second round, of he comes out. Arkansas has a talented group of wide receivers so Gilmore will have to be on all game today,
If the Gamecocks match Gilmore up with Arkansas' best receiver, that would be Jarius Wright. Coming off a 10-catch game against Vanderbilt, Wright has been impressive at times this season. If he's not lined up against Wright, Gilmore could be up against Joe Adams much of the game.
Razorbacks quarterback Tyler Wilson has looked incredible at times, but really needs to come back for his senior season. His arm is pro ready, but his football intelligence may not be. With more experience, Wilson could develop into a first-round player next season.
South Carolina at Arkansas NFL Draft watch notes
The play of the Gamecocks’ Melvin Ingram has been down of late while he battles a foot injury. Even if he’s healthy today, Ingram could struggle against the Arkansas power running game. Ingram has shown he’s a terror against the pass, but has difficulties getting off blocks in the run game.
With Ingram and star freshman
, junior end Devin Taylor has seen his number of snaps drop some this season. Because of that, the lanky pass rusher would be best served returning for his senior season. He’s played well the past few games, but could be another player who develops into a first-round player with another year of college football.
South Carolina strong safety Antonio Allen goes largely unappreciated, but he has solid size and athleticism. In a weak safety class, Allen could be a top 100 pick based on team needs.
There isn't much to be said about Gamecocks wide receiver Alshon Jeffery that already has been iterated. He's ready for the NFL right now and would be wise to go pro after the season.
