“The Golden Era”

When the latest iteration of the Veterans Committee was announced last year, I was sure a mistake had been made, that someone would quickly realize how ridiculous it is to refer to one’s formative years as the “Golden Era.” But I was wrong:

↵↵Ron Santo and Gil Hodges... are back on a Veterans’ Committee ballot representing the Golden Era of the sport from 1947-72, it was announced on Thursday.

↵↵I wish every selfish, idiotic thing my generation did was celebrated as “golden” or “revolutionary” forever.
