There may be no more pro-ready player in the 2012 NFL Draft than Alabama running back Trent Richardson. Yes, that includes Andrew Luck.
Trent Richardson sounds ready for 2012 NFL Draft
Richardson is a prototypical running back combining speed, athleticism and pure strength. He should be able to step in as a rookie and be his team’s top rusher. First, though, the junior will have to enter the draft.
Speaking on SportsCenter earlier today, Richardson certainly sounds ready to go. He noted he only needs a few more credit hours to graduate.
“I’m going to sit down with coach [Nick] Saban and make that decision with my mom,” Richardson said. “I do have two little girls — it’s time for them to have whatever they want,” Richardson said. “I’m going to do what’s best for me and do what’s best for my little girls.”
Richardson noted that he wants to hear from the NFL Draft advisory board as well. They’re almost certain to give Richardson a first-round grade.
