It's been 12 years of torture for the Detroit Lions and their fans, the Lions clinched their first playoff berth since 1999 with a resounding win at Ford Field against the San Diego Chargers, 38-10. They'll finish the season with at least 10 wins with a Pro Bowl receiver in Calvin Johnson and a terrific performance in Week 16, and all season long, from a finally healthy Matthew Stafford.

Stafford threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half, his seventh game of the season with at least 325 passing yards. Johnson had more than 100 receiving yards and a touchdown again, and the Lions defense dismantled Philip Rivers and the Chargers' high-powered offense on their way to the win.

Rivers threw for 299 yards, but tossed two interceptions, including a pick-six courtesy of an athletic play by Cliff Avril in the waning minutes of the game.

The mood in Detroit was festive, to say the least, knowing that the Lions will be playing in mid-January for the first time in more than a decade. Congratulations to the Lions and their fans.
