On December 10, the Minnesota Wild defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 4-1 for their seventh straight win. The Wild were the best team in the league with a 20-7-3 record and it looked like they couldn't be stopped.

The Wild, once the league’s best team, won for the first time in over two weeks Thursday in a 4-3 win over the Oilers.


But they were stopped. In fact, Minnesota was stopped for two weeks, An eight-game losing streak (0-5-3) stretched past Christmas; the Wild earned just three points between December 13-28.
Thursday, the Wild finally got the proverbial money off their collective backs in a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
Minnesota finally had the bounces go their way. Literally.
Pierre-Marc Bouchard was able to corral a puck that bounced over several sticks while on its way from Marek Zidlicky and out a snap shot past Nikolai Khabibulin for his eighth goal of the season. It was the Wild's second goal in 19 seconds and the second of three within the middle frame.
A strong start didn't cripple Minnesota during its losing streak; the Wild are just two points behind the Vancouver Canucks in the Northwest Division. If the last month has been any indication, it's going to be a tight race for the "Wild & Crazy Kids."
