Mocking the Draft’s Prospect Film Library

We are now hitting a sad stretch of the year. Not only is it still freezing and cold across the country with massive snow fall, but there are no more new football games. Yes, its the first weekend after the Super Bowl and no doubt, if you’re like me, you’ve already checked every sports channel that is part of your cable package to find replays of the best games and prospects from the past season. While there is bound to be plenty of games to watch, not every game is going to be replayed and even with a DVR, not always convenient. That is about to change! Follow me after the jump to discover the all new, Mocking the Draft’s Prospect Film Library is all about.

Here is what you’ll get from our new YouTube channel: Each game is broken down so each teams offense and defense are highlighted. Then all commercials, time outs, replays, and (unless it is a critical play) special teams are removed so only the offensive plays remain. This shrinks the watch time to about 10 minutes per team and you can enjoy an entire game in under 20 minutes. Each video is also been unconverted into HD for your viewing pleasure. So if you have internet on your TV, an HDMI port on your laptop w/cable, or an HD monitor, you can watch each video in 1080p. Stuck away from your TV or computer but still have an internet ready device such as an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone? As long as you have internet access, you can watch these game films anytime!

It’s important to remember that these aren’t highlight videos. These offer more than just a collection of the best plays from a prospect. You can watch every snap they play to scout more than just their best moments, but their talents and skills as a whole package as well. Sure you’ve seen the best throws the quarterback prospects have made in their careers, but how consistent are their mechanics? What kind of plays were they being asked to run? More down field throws or more screens? How do they handle pressure? How does your favorite wide receiver handle press coverage? How consistent is that offensive lineman against speed/power rushes? How many pass rush moves does your favorite defensive end have? Can that college DE stand up and cover as a 3-4 linebacker? There is so much to learn from watching the game than narrowing the scouting down to solely box scores and highlight reels and Mocking the Draft’s library gives you that opportunity.

So we hope you’ll stop by our YouTube channel and check out our current selection of 22 games (including the East/West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl) and subscribe so you’ll know as soon as our newest videos are posted. Please feel free to leave any comment on the players (like/dislike, underclassmen to watch, etc) on the video pages and any requests for videos on prospects, teams, or match-ups in the channel comments section. This year, don’t just take our word for it and check out the next best thing to coaches tape at Mocking the Draft’s Prospect Film Library!
