Washington quarterback Jake Locker intends to fully participate in the NFL Scouting Combine next week.
That's what he told Joe Fortenbaugh of National Football Post via text message today.
This is a smart move for Locker. Much like Colin Kaepernick of Nevada, Locker should shine at the combine. Of course, that means he'll have to show much better accuracy in throwing drills. Locker's career has been plagued by overthrown passes. In his defense, though, he's never been surrounded by the best talent.
NFP: Jake Locker doing everything at NFL Scouting Combine
Expect Locker to be among the leaders among quarterbacks in the 40-yard dash and the short shuttle.
As a senior, Locker completed 55.4 percent of his passes for 2.265 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also ran the ball for 385 yards.
They’re certainly stats that aren’t indicative of Locker’s athletic ability. Most expect him to run in the 4.5-second range in the 40 and he has a big arm.
