Hornets Vs. Warriors: Monta Ellis Helps Golden State Defend Home Court Against New Orleans

The Golden State Warriors knocked off the New Orleans Hornets 102-89 in Oakland, thanks in part to 21 points from Monta Ellis and 13 off the bench from Vladimir Radmanovic. The win got the Warriors to 25-29 overall and 19-11 at Oracle Arena, two solid marks, all things considered.

The Warriors shot exceptionally well against a stout New Orleans defense. Golden State's the top three-point shooting team in the league at nearly 40 percent, and the Warriors proved it by hitting 10 of 19 from beyond the arc. Stephen Curry didn't shoot much in this game (just five field goal attempts) but he hit every single attempt, including three three-pointers. Ellis and Radmanovic also hit two each.

Chris Paul was harassed into 4-12 shooting and finished with 11 points and 10 assists. The Hornets have lost eight of 10 since their 10-game losing streak was snapped.

In other action:

Grizzlies 102, 76ers 91: Speaking without irony, this was likely the best match-up heading into Tuesday's action. Mike Conley broke out for 22 points and five steals (what a thief) in the Memphis win. Denver and Utah are tied for the West's No. 7 seed; the Grizzlies are just a half-game back.

Thunder 126, Kings 96: Tyreke Evans didn't play, and the Kings might as well have forfeited. Sacramento trailed 19-4 at one point, and observers universally believed that it could have been worse. It eventually got worse, and the Kings suffered their worst defeat of the season. The Thunder are off until next week, though Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and James Harden will all be busy at All-Star Weekend.
