The rivalry match between Chivas Guadalajara and Club America is known as the Super Clasico and is internationally known as one of the biggest derbies in the world. Despite that, it may not be the best rivalry game in its own country. That distinction probably belongs to UANL Tigres and Monterrey, who contest Mexico’s great northern derby, the Clasico Regiomontano.

This year, that game has some extra incentives, beyond each team just wanting to beat their biggest rivals. Tigres and Monterrey are both in Group 1, and should be fighting all tournament long for a place near the top of the group standings and an automatic place in Liguilla.
Simultaneously, at 6 pm ET, Cruz Azul and Atlas play a game with possible Liguilla implications at Estadio Azul. The 8pm games see Pachuca go away to play Chivas in front of literally dozens of people, while Queretaro have their work cut out for them as they travel away to Santos Laguna.
