It'd take a lot to slow the Georgia Bulldogs' roll right now, in the wake of a consensus slam-dunk signing class that erased all memories of that unfortunate episode in Memphis, but a blow to their golden boy under center might do it. The UGA student paper is passing along rumors that starting quarterback Aaron Murray has broken his ankle in two places.
Report: Georgia’s Aaron Murray Injures Ankle In ‘Team Activity’
Team sources say that Murray broke the ankle participating in an activity with teammates and friends on Saturday afternoon. Murray was rushed to team doctors after suffering the injury.
Murray was seen using crutches around campus Monday.
For what it's worth, former Dawg and current ESPN personality David Pollack says the injury isn't serious, but the ramifications are worth considering until we know more: With the departure of Zach "Banned From Valdosta" Mettenberger to LSU and Logan "Fair Catch" Gray to the transfer list, the likely heir to the starting spot in the event of a catastrophic Murray injury would be Hutson Mason, rising sophomore and noted tire swing enthusiast.
