Two days before the NFL Scouting Combine begins at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, workout plans are being made known.
NFL Combine plans coming to light
The latest, and perhaps most noteworthy, is that Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder will throw, according to Pro Football Talk. Before the Senior Bowl, Ponder said he wasn't going to.
As writer Evan Silva noted, Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, Ryan Mallett, Cam Newton and Ricky Stanzi are also scheduled to throw. Missouri's Blaine Gabbert will not.
Mallett will only throw and do interviews. He’ll do a full workout at Arkansas’ pro day, the Arkansas News reports.
Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara also intends to participate in a full workout, according to the Omaha Sun. The Combine is especially important to Amukamara. There are questions about his speed and quickness. He'll need to look good in drills to get into the draft' top 10 picks.
