Accenture Match Play 2011 Tee Times, Field And TV Information

The WGC Accenture Match Play Championship begins on Wednesday morning with the best the world of golf has to offer hitting the course in the always fun match play format. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood and others square-off over the next five days, going head-to-head with their opponents as they work their way through the bracket. It all kicks off on Wednesday, with Sunday’s 36-hole match determining the champion.

Format: Unlike a traditional golf tournament, players are seeded into a bracket based on their their Official World Golf Rankings. The top 64 players are invited, with alternates also selected in case of a late scratch or player that chooses not to attend. The tournament is single-elimination and follows the match play format.

Location: The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club’s Dove Mountain course in Marana, Arizona plays host to the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship this year.

Schedule and TV information: The first group goes off the first tee at 7:25 a.m. local time from the Dove Mountain Course, with the last group scheduled to tee-off at 12:35 p.m. Golf Channel has the coverage on Wednesday beginning at 12 p.m. The coverage runs until 6 p.m., with a replay taking place from 7:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Notable names: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood are the No. 1 seeds in the bracket. Graeme McDowell, Paul Casey, Rory McIlroy and Steve Strick are on the No. 2 seed line.
