Lastings Milledge Isn’t As Out Of Chances As You’d Think

You hear the name Lastings Milledge and you imagine this busted top prospect who must be 30 by now. But Milledge – who just signed a minor league contract with the White Sox – actually turns just 26 this April. Milledge is by no means a sure bet for success, but you look at some of the other guys who’ve signed minor league contracts this offseason (Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia, Jody Gerut, Reed Johnson, etc) and you see a lot of older guys trying to hang on. With Milledge, the White Sox may have found a player with actual long-term upside.
