Site announcement(s): We’re growing

You may have noticed over the past couple weeks that MTD has added two additional staffers – Matthew Fairburn and EagleWarren. I was excited to add both of them along with the great 3k from Turf Show Times. (Big Blue Shoe and Brian Galliford may even pop in here at some point)

Today I’m super excited to announce that the NFLMocks.com crew is joining Mocking the Draft. If you haven’t seen their work, it’s excellent. Site head man Jon Dove was at MTD some last draft season, so this is sort of like the prodigal son returning. They’re going to add excellent news, analysis, mock drafts and maybe even a podcast to the site.

Welcome everyone aboard and be nice. Writers and editors wouldn’t be asked to join MTD if they can’t bring it strong.Of course, none of this could be possible without you, the reader. We expect traffic on the site to grow immensely once draft season officially kicks off on Monday. So everyone that’s new on the site, thanks for stopping by. For those who are here year round, I love you, sincerely. Without you being here in down months like June, July and August, this site may not be possible.

For everyone that puts up a mock draft in the Fan Posts, keep it up. For the third year in a row, we’ll be giving away some money to the most-accurate mock. That is, if you can beat me.

Speaking of Fan Posts, if you want to join the latest community mock draft, find the info here. Anyone is free to join. Thanks to comment moderator TheAngelsColts for handling this Herculean task.

You may have noticed my name changed. If I catch you stalking me, just make sure you’re taking pictures on my left side.

ANYWAY, if you have feedback, good or bad, leave it here and also in comments on stories. We’re about providing you with great draft info. If something goes up that you think is otherwise, say so.

Oh, and don’t forget, there is still some time to nominate MTD in the About.com Readers’ Choice Awards for best draft site. Nominations end at 11:59 (EST) tonight.

Last, my hotel in Indianapolis is booked. Hopefully we’ll be offering a ton of combine coverage this year. It’s almost draft season. Get ready.
