As Nick Piecoro reports, the D’backs are backing off their plans to install a humidor at Chase Field. Why? Because 38 percent is a big number:
Diamondbacks Postpone Humidor Plans
↵↵A couple of scientific minds, Alan Nathan from the University of Illinois and Greg Rybarczyk from hittrackeronline.com, estimated for The Republic in September that a humidor could have a drastic impact at Chase, perhaps resulting – and we’re summarizing here – in a home-run reduction of about 38 percent.

Considering that the D’backs were out-homered 210-180 last season, you might argue this would be a good thing. Especially given the departure of Mark Reynolds.
↵But change is scary, and the status quo means no tough questions from pesky reporters or cries of anguish from power hitters every time a fly ball is caught at the warning track.
