Albert Haynesworth Accused Of Road Rage Assault; Arrest Warrant Issued

Washington Redskins' resident nice guy Albert Haynesworth, you will be surprised to learn, has a warrant out for his arrest, after a Wednesday incident on a Virginia highway in which he's been accused of striking another motorist. According to the police report, a driver on the Fairfax County Parkway felt he was being tailgated by Haynesworth and offered him a "non-verbal hand gesture." Haynesworth, noted pussycat that he is, waited until the next red light to get out of his car, approach the car in front of him, and hit him. The charge is simple assault, a misdemeanor in Virginia.

The reaction from the team has been about what you'd expect:

A Redskins executive said the team was unaware of the incident or the charge. “This is the first I’m hearing about this,” Tony Wyllie, Redskins senior vice president, said in a phone interview with Redskins beat reporter Jason Reid. “At this time, we need to gather information.”
Haynesworth is out of town, according to his lawyer, and is waiting until next week to surrender, which you can apparently do. If there’s a bright side to all this, it’s that he really must have been keeping up with his conditioning during his recent suspension if he can step on his nonverbal assailant’s face from outside the guy’s car. Look at that flexibility!
