It may not be the Senior Bowl or the East-West Shrine Game, but today’s NFLPA Game is still football.
NFLPA Game open thread

Airing at 2 p.m. today on CBS College Sports, the NFLPA Game pits players with ties to Texas against everyone else. It’s sort of a strange concept, but this used to be known as the Texas vs. the Nation Game.
Use this as your open thread for the game. I may not be around, so educate random readers and lurkers in the comments.
In Super Bowl week, the NFLPA Game has gone mostly unnoticed. Fortunately, a few draftniks were in San Antonio to observe practices.
The top player in today's game is Hampton defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis. At 6-foot-4 and 338 pounds, Ellis is in the running with Baylor Phil Taylor as the top nose tackle in this year's class.
When Wes Bunting of National Football Post described Ellis’ practice week the lineman sounded inconsistent.
No player really seemed to blow Bunting away, but several disappointed, including defensive tackle Jerrell Powe and outside linebacker Wayne Daniels – two of the top players in today's game.
Russ Lande of the Sporting News was also in attendance at practices. He had the opposite opinion on Powe.
One player that seemed to really emerge this week was Florida Atlantic tight end Rob Housler. He's a moderately athletic tight end who runs good routes. I'm just as excited to see how Louisville tight end Cameron Graham does. Like Housler, he's not a physical freak, but his hands are good.
