The Super Bowl is over. It is officially draft season. As a consequence, it is also mock draft season. (See Jon Dove’s mock draft here)
Rock out with your mock draft out: Matt Maiocco
With the influx of interest in the draft post-Super Bowl, members of the main stream media will start to put out mocks. The first came today from Matt Maiocco. He's been a 49ers beat writer since 1993 and currently holds that position for CSN Bay Area.
In a move that may become popular if he looks good Thursday, Maiocco puts Cam Newton first overall to the Carolina Panthers. "He's able to do things I've never seen before," a scout told Maiocco.
Another pick that may become popular is Jimmy Smith going in the top 15. Maiocco has the Colorado cornerback at pick 12 to Minnesota.
