Nationwide Series driver Michael Annett was arrested and charged with a DWI early Sunday morning, according to various reports.

↵Annett, who joined Rusty Wallace Racing in the offseason, was tested at a .32 blood alcohol content – four times the legal limit in North Carolina – following a car crash early Sunday morning.
↵SceneDaily.com reported Annett was also charged with “resisting arrest, failure to reduce speed and unlawful use of using a mobile phone to text or send e-mail” after he plowed into a stopped car at an estimated 30 mph.

A mug shot posted on WCNC-TV’s web site showed an unshaven Annett in a grey “wife-beater” shirt.
↵“This was truly a life-changing moment for me,” Annett said in a statement, according to SceneDaily. “Despite all of the negativity that will undoubtedly arise from it, I’m going to strive to use this incident as the impetus to make a lot of positive changes in my life.â€

SceneDaily reported Annett will face “internal sanctions” at Rusty Wallace Racing. He was driving a vehicle owned by RWR at the time of the crash.
↵Annett has had little success in the Nationwide Series during his first two full seasons. He has six top-10 finishes in 71 starts.
