Iran is calling on all Muslim nations to boycott the upcoming 2012 summer Olympic games, which will be in London, due to the logo being racist because it supposedly spells out the word 'Zion' which is a biblical term for Jerusalem.
Bahram Afsharzadeh who is Iran's of Iran’s National Olympic Committee secretary general wrote a letter International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge saying that the logo was insensitive:
"There is no doubt that negligence of the issue from your side may affect the presence of some countries in the games, especially Iran which abides by commitment to the values and principles," the letter said.
Take into account that this complaint comes from the same country that in the past has refused to send athletes to international competitions if they were competing against Israelis athletes, and who has also questioned the accounts of the Holocaust.
This logo has been around since 2007, and just now the Iranian's are complaining that the word spells out 'Zion' and is offensive to them.
If you read the logo vertically and then left to right and assume the number two is a actually the letter 'n' just skewed to the side then maybe it spells our the word 'Zion,' but that is a reach.
The IOC has already responded to Iran's claim by saying the logo for the London games represents the year 2012 and nothing else.
