Kahne Returns to Victory Lane: The Too Tough to Tame 200 Review

The NASCAR Camping World Trucks took center stage this week and put on one hell of a show.

Kasey Kahne, driving in Kyle Busch's #18 Truck, dominated the crash filled Too Tough to Tame 200.

We had a crash in the first turn of the race! And a 7 minute red flag after Johanna Long slammed into the side of Ricky Carmichael!

Kahne also set a record for being the first driver to win 3 of the first 4 races in a series. Kahne made the jump to Nationwide and completely skipped the Truck Series when he was making his way up. It was great to see Kasey Kahne return to victory lane, but it should be in the Cup series, not the Trucks.

Speaking of Kahne being a Cup driver, one fact I'm sure you've all noticed is that all three races in the Truck Series have been won by non-Truck Series drivers, just as the Nationwide races have been won by Cup Drivers.

I don't know about you but I feel that this is not looking too favorable on Nascar’s new points system which is supposed to limit Cup drivers participation in Nationwide and Trucks.

This was also the third straight Toyota victory in the Trucks in 2011. Camping World is Toyota Territory.

The race was capped by a shootout after a late race caution. Todd Bodine had a chance to take Kasey Kahne on, but got loose and ended James Buescher’s run to the front. Bodine picked up his first top 5 of the year, and Matt Crafton held on to the points lead.

Cole Whitt had another top 10, and is now second in points.
