Wolves Vs. Warriors: Kevin Love’s Double-Double Streak Snapped As Golden State Squelches Minnesota

That giant crashing sound you heard around midnight Eastern was Kevin Love's modern record 53-game consecutive double-double streak being destroyed as the Golden State Warriors beat up on the Minnesota Timberwolves 100-77. Love scored just six points on 1-6 from the floor to go with his 12 rebounds as Minnesota fell; the streak had been active since Nov. 19, and had broken Moses Malone's post-merger record last week. Wilt Chamberlain's all-time NBA record is well over 200.

Love wasn't alone; few Wolves shot well against the inexorably bad Golden State defense. Between them, starters Love, Darko Milicic and Wesley Johnson shot a combined 3-19. Minnesota shot 36 percent from the floor, but did assist on 20 of its 26 made shots.

Golden State, meanwhile, was led by Stephen Curry, who scored 24 points on 8-15 shooting. The Wolves are typically susceptible to the steal, and Sunday was no different: The Warriors picked off the Wolves 16 times, and Minnesota committed a total of 27 turnovers, one off the season's high mark for any team. (The Wolves and Suns share that mark this season at 28.)

Thunder 95, Cavaliers 75: The game ended about four minutes in, as Oklahoma City for a 13-5 lead and never looked back. Luke Harangody got the opportunity to shoot 0-8 for the Cavs.

Bobcats 95, Raptors 90: Charlotte held on late as D.J. Augustin led the Bobcats to a valuable win as the team inexplicably maintains a presence in the playoff chase. Augustin had 23 points on 14 shot attempts. Raptors reserve big man Reggie Evans had 17 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Magic 111, Suns 88: Orlando stomped Phoenix, though none of the former Suns involved in the blockbuster trade between the teams earlier this season had much to do with it. This was all about Dwight Howard (26 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks) destroying all in his path, and Steve Nash resting his injured groin. Aaron Brooks filled in admirably with 19 points, 10 assists and zero assists, but the Magic were too much.
