LeBron James and the Miami Heat are back in Cleveland to meet the Cavaliers (4 p.m. ET, NBA TV), and while much of Northeast Ohio unquestionably harbors anger in its heart and lava in its eyes, the buzz simply isn't there. What we knew to be true in December is laid bare now: The Heat are incredible, the Cavs are awful.
Heat Vs. Cavaliers: LeBron James Takes His Talents Back To Cleveland
Miami is looking to make headway against the Chicago Bulls for the No. 1 seed in the East heading into the NBA playoffs, while the Cavaliers will almost assuredly finish with the league's worst record. In LeBron's first return to Cleveland back on Dec. 2, the Heat won by 28. That's about where you'd expect the margin to be. James had 38 in the game, and Dwyane Wade flirted with a triple-double (22 points, nine rebounds, nine assists).
If anything, LeBron might be motivated to go even harder this time, as Cavs’ parking staff gave the two-time MVP grief over bringing a small entourage to the Heat’s shootaround and attempting to enter the players-only underground garage. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about LeBron over the past year, it’s that no slight is too small to make a big deal of.
