Every club's worst fear is that their players pick up injuries while away on international duty. In an interesting and uncommon twist, Club America goalkeeper Guillermo 'Memo' Ochoa injured his ankle a day after returning to his club from national team duty. Despite decent performances for the Mexican national team against Paraguay and Venezuela, the Mexican media felt the need to make Memo Ochoa the scapegoat for the draw against the latter team. Despite what the media might attempt to make you believe, Ochoa is in good form and his loss will be big for America if his ankle injury is serious.

Backup goalkeeper Armando Navarrete is also unavailable, so if Ochoa is too injured to play, 20 year old goalkeeper Hugo Alfonso González could see his first ever start. In mid-week, they face Argentinos Juniors in Copa Libertadores, ahead of next week’s Super Clasico against Chivas Guadalajara.
