oOver the past month, Von Miller has been praised more than any other player in the 2011 NFL Draft. The praise has been warranted, as Miller dominated the 2011 Senior Bowl and proceeded to deliver a lights out combine performance.

However, at least one NFL Scout is not sold. Dave Razzano, who spent more than twenty years as an NFL scout and now appears on Comcast Sports Net, said that the Texas A&M linebacker has “got some Vernon Gholston in him.“ Razzano went on to say that Miller ”lacks a motor“ and is a ”one move guy.”

There is little doubt that Von Miller is physically capable of being a productive NFL linebacker. Weighing in at 6’2” tall and 246 pounds, Miller ran a 4.46 forty and recorded a 37” vertical leap. The kid is a freak of an athlete.

That being said, being a freakish athlete does not always translate to the football field. Miller seemed to lack a killer instinct at times during his collegiate career. He was often easily swallowed by blockers and lacked a motor on occasion. Miller is a tremendous speed rusher, but does he have another move?

A lot of these questions surrounding Von Miller are having little effect on his draft stock. Miller appears to be a lock for the top five picks and could go as high as number three overall to the Buffalo Bills.

Von Miller could very well be the next DeMarcus Ware or Clay Matthews, but he could just as easily be the next Vernon Gholston or Aaron Maybin.

Drafting a pass rushing linebacker early in the first round is always a risky proposition. Will Von Miller be worth the risk?
