Greg Biffle’s plane had a mechanical failure upon landing at a Kentucky airport this morning, but the NASCAR driver and both of his pilots are OK, Roush Fenway Racing said.
Greg Biffle, Pilots Uninjured After ‘Minor Incident’ While Landing Plane
↵Biffle and his two pilots were landing at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky. when the plane skidded to a stop on the runway. Roush Fenway said the skid was due to a malfunction that occurred “during the landing.”
↵The team described the incident as “minor” and said there were no injuries. Still, anyone related to Roush Fenway Racing being involved in an aviation incident is scary, since team owner Jack Roush crashed his plane last year and lost an eye.
↵UPDATE: Biffle tweeted that the right landing gear failed upon landing, forcing the plane to hit its wing on the runway.
↵↵@gbiffle: My pilots are purely heroes for maintaining control of the aircraft keeping on the runway, if not it wouldnt have been the same outcome
