Bears, Buccaneers Scheduled To Meet In 2011 London NFL Game

In 2009, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played in the third regular season NFL game ever held outside of North America. And now they're set to become the first team to do it twice, because apparently the Bucs are our nation's finest export. They'll face the Chicago Bears, who will be leaving the continent for their first time in a game that counts.

Why are the Bucs crossing the Atlantic just two years after giving up a home date to play in Wembley Stadium? Team owner Malcolm Glazer also owns Manchester United, so he’s bigger in England than most NFL owners are, but the Bucs don’t really make much use of their home games anyway, struggling with attendance that caused all eight 2010 home games to be blacked out.

Also, Lance Briggs thinks there should be a NFL franchise in Dublin, Ireland. If this is what it takes to make that happen, so be it.

For more on this game, Bears fans should visit Windy City Gridiron and SB Nation Chicago, and Bucs fans should join Bucs Nation and SB Nation Tampa Bay.
