LeBron James didn't have his best game on Saturday in the Miami Heat's playoff opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. Miami won, taking a 1-0 lead in its first-round series against the Sixers, and James did tally a game-high 14 rebounds and a team-high five assists. But he shot just 4-14 from the field, struggling to break down Andre Iguodala and doing nearly all of his damage at the line.
Heat Vs. 76ers, Game 2: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Try To Avoid Home Split
Against Philadelphia, it appears that will be good enough, so long as Chris Bosh performs as well as he did in Game 1 and Dwyane Wade is willing and able to play point guard. But the rest of the bracket will be tougher on both ends, and LeBron will need to be better on offense. The next opportunity to break out comes Monday in Game 2 at 7 p.m. on TNT.
Wade should be available after missing Sunday's Heat practice with a migraine. He participated in shootaround on Monday. The Sixers look healthy as well; Iguodala shot poorly in Game 1 (2-7) after missing the final two games of the regular season, but defended well and had a game-high nine assists. Lou Williams came back from a hamstring strain to score 10 points off the bench; he and Thaddeus Young have become vital reserves for Doug Collins, providing a lot of the scoring punch the starting lineup lacks.
