After spending his entire career in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, second baseman Brad Emaus is suddenly on pace to challenge the record for most franchises played for. The Colorado Rockies traded for Emaus today, sending Chris Malone to the Blue Jays.
Brad Emaus Traded To Colorado Rockies
Emause was a Rule 5 draftee who made the New York Mets' Opening Day roster, but he struggled early, and the club offered him back to the Blue Jays after he cleared waivers. The Blue Jays had apparently made organizational peace with Emaus's departure, trading him to the Rockies when they couldn't find a spot for him.
Malone is a 28-year-old reliever who was in the Dodgers' organization before joining the Rockies, and he has also spent a little time in the independent Golden Baseball League. He has been primarily a reliever over his minor league career, with a career minor league ERA of 4.78 in 446 innings, and a K/BB ratio of 380/168.
