Jonathan Quick made a ridiculous 51 saves in Game 5 in San Jose to force the Sharks south to face his Los Angeles Kings in Monday's Game 5, and while that kind of performance would likely be enough to push their NHL playoff series to a decisive seventh game, the reality is that can't be expected.
Sharks Vs. Kings, Game 6: Behind Jonathan Quick, L.A. Can Force Game 7
Instead, the Kings are going to have to rely on more-normal forms of grabbing a victory if they want their season to stretch beyond Monday night. Quick will be an integral part of any L.A. win, should it happen, but the offense is going to have to figure out the Sharks should they want victory.
With the exception of the wild, disheartening 6-5 loss in Game 3, the Kings have scored just five goals in their two losses in the series. Even in their win on Saturday, the Kings only put 22 shots on goal compared to the 52 from the Sharks.
Antti Niemi will be in goal for the Sharks after a horrible start to Game 5, so the outcome of this Game 6 will depend largely on if he's back on his game or not. Quick is obviously going for the Kings again.
