NFL Draft 2011: TE Lance Kendricks, Wisconsin
Tight end | 6’3”, 243 pounds | Senior
Offensive scheme: Pro-style, run-first offense. Projects as a TE/H-Back.
A story you may not know: Kendricks’ career at Wisconsin got off to a slow start. He was widely considered one of the best wide receivers in the country out of high school, but was redshirted and switched to tight end where he had to gain weight. Kendricks gained 30-pounds and took pride in blocking for the first time in his life. He went on to become the top receiving target on the Badgers as a senior, catching 43 passes for 663 yards and five touchdowns. He also played a key part as a dominant blocker in UW’s three-headed rushing attack.
Compared to which NFL player: Dustin Keller, New York Jets. Runs good routes and gets himself open.
