The Colts needed an offensive tackle in this draft to protect Peyton Manning. As the things have played out, it became obvious that the Colts had to take one of the offensive tackles available.
Indianapolis Colts take Anthony Castonzo 22nd in NFL Draft
Anthony Castonzo of Boston College, Gabe Carimi of Wisconsin and Derek Sherrod of Mississippi State were all on the board. The Colts decided to go with the Boston College left tackle whom they should be able to plug in immediately at either left or right tackle.
