Cameron Jordan shouldn’t have been available with the 24th pick in the NFL Draft. He was and the Saints took advantage of it.
Cameron Jordan goes to Saints 24th in NFL Draft
The Saints can plug Jordan into the right end spot opposite Will Smith and give the Saints a good pass rush again. It’s still surprising to see Jordan get picked before Da’Quan Bowers. It may have been even more surprising that the Saints didn’t take Alabama running back Mark Ingram.
Where Jordan is ahead of many college ends is that he has an array of pass rush moves. His best is a power move where he slaps with his lead hand and pulls his other arm over to get past the blocker. He also employs a nice spin and a rip move. Don’t let his size fool you, Jordan isn’t just a power rusher. He compares favorably to his new teammate, Smith, in fact.
