2010 Ohio DT Marcellis Williamson Dead At 23

Ohio University's athletic department has confirmed late Wednesday reports of the death of Marcellis Williamson, the starting nose tackle for the Bobcats in 2009 and 2010 who graduated after the end of last season. Williamson died Wednesday afternoon of causes that have not been confirmed by medical personnel, though speculation all points in one direction, according to the Ohio student newspaper:

Friends of Williamson said he suffered a heart attack though no official cause of death has been released. An attendant at Euclid Hospital in Euclid, Ohio, confirmed at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday that Williamson was a patient earlier in the day and had been discharged.SB Nation’s MAC blog, Hustle Belt, points the way to Williamson’s final Facebook update, calling it “utterly chilling”:

Williamson had been a college graduate and working adult for several months, but that doesn't make him any less a kid in our eyes right now. Our thoughts are with his family and the Ohio Bobcats community.
