Was a very exciting (and surprisingly quick paced) 1st round and now that it’s over, it feels as though it is going to be even harder to predict the upcoming round. We’re certainly aren’t going to let that stop us from taking a shot it. Lets take a look at who is still on the board.
Round Two NFL Mock Draft
33. New England - Justin Houston DE/OLB Georgia
After taking Solder, the Patriots traded out of the first round and pass rusher is their biggest need.
34. Buffalo - Akeem Ayers, OLB/DE UCLA
The Bills did well to get the best defensive lineman in the draft with their first pick, now its time to upgrade the pass rush.
35. Cincinnati - Andy Dalton, QB TCU
I am not as high on Dalton here, but after the run on quarterbacks yesterday, and all I love I hear Cincy’s new offensive coordinator has for Dalton, they may take a shot here.
36. Denver - Marvin Austin DT UNC
They got a versatile LB, they they still need bodies along the front four.
37. Cleveland - Da’Quan Bowers, DE Clemson
His medicals must have really scared teams to have Bowers fall out of the first round entirely. I'm not privy to the exact details on his knee, but for a guy who was once considered the #1 overall prospect, the Browns could get a steal reshaping their D-line
38. Arizona - Martez Wilson, LB Illinois
Word is Arizona is hoping on trading for Kolb once they can, so they might look to continue to upgrade the defense.
39. Tennessee - Stephen Paea, DT Oregon State
A disruptive force in the middle of the defense that they haven’t had still Hanyesworth was there.
40. Dallas Cowboys - Aaron Williams, FS Texas
Dallas needs secondary help and I’m sure Jerry wouldn’t mind grabbing an instate kid either.
41. Washington - Mikel Leshoure, RB Illinois
I’m sure Shannan still has a soft spot for Portis, but nabbing a top flight RB like Leshoure would help the corp of running backs
42. Houston - Brandon Harris, CB Miami
Another team that needs secondary help. Could use more young talent, but wouldn’t be surprised if they find someone if FA too.
43. Minnesota - Rahim Moore, FS UCLA
They went out and got their QB, now they go out and get a play maker at safety
44. Detroit - Bruce Carter, LB UNC
The front four is scary enough, now they can look to upgrade the next level of the defense.
45. San Francisco - Randall Cobb, WR Kentucky
Cobb is an great offensive weapon to pair with Crabtree and Davis
46. Denver - Ben Ijalana, OG/OT
A good swing lineman whose skill match up with what Denver likes to do on offense
47. St. Louis - Titus Young, WR Boise State
A great offensive weapon to help their budding QB star
48. Oakland - Colin Kapernick, QB Nevada
He’s fast and throws a terrific deep ball. Hw is this not Al Davis’s guy?
49. Washington - Christian Ballard, DT/DE Iowa
Adding youth and talent to the D-line. Really don’t think the drug test hurts him that much, if at all
50. San Diego -Jabaal Sheard, OLB/DE
Because you can never have too many pass rushers in a 3-4
51. Tampa Bay - Mason Foster, LB Washington
Tampa will continue to upgrade their defense and Foster is a great value here
52. New York Giants - Stefen Wisniewski, C/OG Penn State
A big, nasty lineman to develop in the middle of their lineup
53. Indianapolis - Ryan Mallett, QB Arkansas
Crazy shot in the dark, but try and follow me. Word has been they are looking to groom someone behind Manning. Indy has a great locker room to help with any off field issues and Mallett has an arm that’s not unlike their current starter. After sitting behind Manning, he should be coming into a good situation or at the very least be valuable on the trade market, not unlike the journey Kolb has taken.
54. Philadelphia - Jurrell Casey, DT USC
Reid loves his lineman and they could always add talent up front
55. Kansas City - Brooks Reed, OLB Arizona
A pass rusher to complement Tamba Hali
56. New England - Torrey Smith, WR Maryland
A WR that can “open the top” the of the defense. His speed will help open up the underneath for Welker and the TEs
57. Seattle - Brandon Burton, CB Utah
The Hawks have surprisingly little behind Trufant at corner
58. Baltimore - Leonard Hankerson, WR Miami
A good possession WR to learn behind Mason while rotating in on Sundays
59. Cleveland - Kyle Rudolph. TE Notre Dame
With Atlanta’s 2nd rounder, they can afford a little luxury and get McCoy a nice weapon
60. New England - Allen Bailey, DT/DE Miami
More bodies for the defensive line
61. San Diego - DeMarco Murray, RB Oklahoma
With Sporles possibly leaving and Matthews not yet playing a full season, a change of pace back like Murray would fit nicely into their backfield
62. Chicago - Curtis Brown, CB Texas
Chicago feels it can get pressure with Peppers and the front four, so they need to continue to build the backend of their D
63. Pittsburgh - Davon House, CB New Mexico State
Pittsburgh’s corners didn’t play up to expectations last season and young would be served at the position
64. Green Bay - Jerrel Jernigan, WR Troy
They got more protection for Rodgers, why not get him an extra weapon too
