The most baffling occurrence in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft happened when the Baltimore Ravens ran out of time on the 26th pick.
Report: Ravens may seek compensation from Bears on trade fallout

That allowed the Kansas City Chiefs to rush a pick of wide receiver Jon Baldwin to the podium. That's not the news hook, as Peter King of Sports Illustrated points out.
The Ravens and Chicago Bears came to agreement on a trade that would send pick 26 to Chicago for picks 29 and 127.
As King points out, the teams have to call in the trade to the league at Radio City Music Hall. The Ravens made the call. The Bears didn't.
On the plus side, both teams got the players they were after. Chicago wanted offensive tackle Gabe Carimi. Baltimore wanted cornerback Jimmy Smith.
Baltimore missed out on getting the extra fourth-round pick from Chicago. Because they agreed to the trade in principle, King thinks that the Ravens will try to get compensation from Chicago. This could be a hot button item all day.
