Running backs dominate in NFL Draft fourth round

There was depth at running back in the NFL Draft this year, and the fourth round proved it.

Some teams drafted running backs purely as backup help. That would be the New York Jets with Bilal Powell, the San Francisco 49ers with Kendall Hunter, the Oakland Raiders with Taiwan Jones and the Tennessee Titans with Jamie Harper.

There were a couple running backs who should be able to eventually take over the starting duties. For the Indianapolis Colts, Delone Carter has the potential to be the team's best running back since Edgerrin James. He's a physical runner with good quickness. The question, though, is about his health.

The Redskins took Nebraska's Roy Helu who projects as a classic zone cut-and-go running back. He has solid size, but it's his first move that will get him yards in the NFL. Clinton Portis' career is on the downturn, so to add a player as good or better than backup Ryan Torain was a smart move by Washington.
