Taking The Lefty/Righty Thing Too Far

With two outs and runners on second and third, Jim Riggleman and the Nationals intentionally walked Giants backup catcher Eli Whiteside to get to Aubrey Huff, who then walked to give the San Francisco the lead.

↵Whiteside is a career .155/.197/.207 hitter against lefties. Huff is a lifetime .275/.328/.429 hitter against lefties for his career. But one is a right-hander and one is a left-hander, so the choice was obvious, right?
