The UFC made headlines this past week when news broke they were looking to place video monitors in front of judges at UFC 130. According to published reports, Marc Ratner, the UFC's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, formally submitted a request to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to offer monitors to judges scoring live bouts at UFC 130. That trend is about to continue.

Jonathan Tweedale, Commissioner of the Vancouver Athletic Commission, has informed SB Nation MMA that Marc Ratner has also requested judges scoring bouts at UFC 131: Lesnar vs. dos Santos also receive video monitors as a viewing option. "The Commission will be considering that request in the near future," Tweedale said.
With UFC 130 and the title fight between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard as well as the number one contender bout at heavyweight between Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos, the pressure on judges to properly evaluate contests is extraordinarily high.
