Broadcaster Mike Krukow, during this afternoon’s Diamondbacks-Giants game, recounted how he got the No. 39 jersey from Renie Martin when he (i.e. Krukow) came to San Francisco from Philly in 1983.

↵“I said to him, ‘What would it take to get that No. 39 jersey?’ and he said, ‘A six pack.’

↵“So I gave him a six pack.”
