Spike TV announced yesterday that on Wednesday, May 25th, the channel will debut UFC® In The Moment: Rampage Jackson. According to the release, "this half-hour special chronicles 32-year-old former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's life as he prepares for his headlining bout with Matt Hamill at UFC 130" and "In this all-access program, fans can follow him every step of the way as he gears up for his encounter with Hamill. From his training sessions, to his media appearances, to his everyday life at home, viewers get an inside look at the Jackson's life as he prepares to take the next step in reclaiming the UFC light heavyweight championship."
Rampage Jackson ‘In The Moment’ Premieres May 25th On Spike TV
The release also notes this show is "produced in near real time, from the subject's point-of-view, with no narration."
There's a number of reasons Spike TV is now pursuing this, in no small part because of the removal of both Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard (as well as their headlining fight) from the UFC 130 fight card. Rampage, easily the biggest star on the card even before the loss of the originally planned main event, now has the burden to promote his fight and the larger UFC 130 event.
