Rather than face any more public nattering on his future of Auburn’s board of trustees, Bobby Lowder has withdrawn from consideration for another term. Which means, of course, that his dealings will now take place under even darker veils of secrecy than before. While we applaud the elected officials with the gumption to take this guy on, we wonder if they wouldn’t be better off having him where he could be watched more easily.
