Having recently lost the moral high ground over the SEC regarding eligible football players and the fielding thereof, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is considering a new frontier in innate superiority with a study on the implementation of COA (cost of attendance) scholarships for Big Ten athletes. It’s the “BIG” in Big Ten that’s the operative term here; conferences with less lucrative television deals would likely have a lot more trouble picking up the slack for their team’s extra expenses.
