After several days of rain at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prevented practice sessions, the skies cleared on Thursday afternoon, allowing the drivers to pick up some much needed time on the track. Will Power and Alex Tagliani had the two fastest laps of the day at 227.778 mph and 227.652 mph, respectively. Tagliani had the fastest lap time on Monday when he had a lap of 225.878 mph.

May 20 is Fast Friday, the final practice day before pole qualifying takes place on Saturday. Bump day is on Sunday, giving some from Saturday a final chance at making the Indy 500, which takes place on Sunday, May 29.
