First it was redheaded quarterbacks. Now it’s players of Nigerian descent.
Xenophobia strikes the NFL Draft again. Nigerians ‘are soft’

According to Dan Pompeii of the National Football Post, cornerback Prince Amukamara slipped to pick No. 19 in the NFL Draft because of his Nigerian background.
One NFL personnel man told Pompeii that NFL people are skeptical of Nigerians because “they are soft, not tough enough and too educated.”
This all sort of sounds like a rejected subplot on a wrestling show. Lets get Hacksaw Jim Duggan to come in and chant, “USA! USA! USA!”
“And it’s no just white men,” the (obviously) anonymous source told Pompeii. “It’s white and blacks.”
Well, that’s for that racist qualifier unnamed NFL talent evaluator.
Notable breakers of the latest in xenophobic remarks: Giants pass rusher Osi Umenyiora, Panthers offensive tackle Jeff Otah and free agent end Adewale Ogunleye.
This isn’t some new phenomenon, either. Remember “The Nigerian Nightmare” Christian Okoye? The antithesis of “soft.”
