Indy 500 Lineup Preview: Qualifying Weekend’s Winners And Losers
Pop Off Valve, SB Nation’s IndyCar community, thinks Alex Lloyd, Paul Tracy and Simona de Silvestro acquitted themselves well, along with pole-holder Alex Tagliani of course. On the other side of the ledger, Dragon Racing, Andretti Autosport, Team Penske and Target Chip Ganassi Racing produced the week’s biggest disappointments.
The last entry on the FTL list might be the most FTL of all -- both Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon ran out of fuel during qualifying. Including the right amount of fuel in an IndyCar is a specific challenge, as too much will only slow down a vehicle, but using too little twice in one weekend is a tough feat to reproduce.
